Technology and Quality Management
In this class we will start with a general understanding of management itself. Then you will get a broad overview about technology management, with introduction, the basics, technology forecasting, planning (technology roadmaps) and how to protect the knowledge. A short excursus will allow to understand the ideas of patent management. We finish the topic of technology management talking about strategy and having a discussion and outlook.
The part of the quality management will start with an introduction as well, in order to understand what means quality? We will then learn about the norms and standards as well as how to understand a management system. To get the full picture we will talk about how to measure quality, how to improve quality, how to design it and how to control it. A special focus will be set on Six Sigma, additional excursus on Lean and Business Process Management, Health, Safety and Environmental Management as well as Compliance will give additional insights.
We will use many examples to understand how the concepts work in reality (or why not). Open discussions are welcome!
