Usability Engineering (M.Sc.)

Dear students,

Below you will find the Moodle courses for the modules offered in the Usability Engineering degree programme.

Please select the courses that correspond to the examination regulations applicable to you:

  • Students who started their studies from the summer semester 2026 onwards follow the current examination regulations.
  • Students who started their studies up to and including the winter semester 2025/26 follow the previous examination regulations. Please also note the transitional arrangements described below.

The applicable examination regulations are available on the official examination regulations page of the Faculty of Communication and Environment .

Since 2023, each module has had a unique four-digit module number across the university, such as 9711. Older Moodle courses may still use identifiers beginning with UE_. After selecting a Moodle course, you will find a corresponding sub-entry for the respective semester.

Students who require a Learning Agreement should first consult the separate Learning Agreement course listed below.

Transitional arrangements for students under the previous examination regulations

Four modules were revised and renamed as part of the new curriculum:

Change of semester

  • Applied Research Project A (9716) was previously offered in the winter semester. Students under the previous examination regulations may now attend User Centred Design Research Project (9728) in the summer semester and have it credited as Applied Research Project A.
  • Applied Research Project B (9726) was previously offered in the summer semester. Students under the previous examination regulations may now attend Rapid Agile Design Project (9718) in the winter semester and have it credited as Applied Research Project B.

Students under the previous examination regulations should therefore enrol in the corresponding Moodle course of the current curriculum, even if the module is now offered in a different semester.

Important: Please contact the Examination Services for clarification on examination registration in HISinOne and the formal recognition of the corresponding module under your examination regulations.
