Bioengineering (B.Sc.)

Introductory lecture will take place on Monday, April 15^th at 8:30 am in room 12 EG 010. In this introductory lecture, you will obtain very important information on the genetics and molecular biology lecture series as well as the lab course. Please note that there will be no lecture on April 8th. First lecture is on Monday, April 15th.

Lab course will start on Monday, April 15^th at 14:00 (Group A) and at 16:00 (Group B) in 10 02 008. Group allocation will be announced soon.

Please bring your lab coat, lab ID, lab script Unit 1 and lab notebook. For this first unit, you will need to have some knowledge on PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) technique. Those students that are not familiar with this technique are kindly asked to seek for information on it.

Important information for students coming from another faculty or another university:  Before working in a laboratory, you must be aware of the safety regulations and the appropriate behavior in laboratory facilities. Thus, to participate in the practical training you have to take the General Safety Briefing, the Genetic Engineering Safety Briefing and the according tests. You can find here the electronic version of the General Safety Briefing (https://moodle.hochschule-rhein-waal.de/course/index.php?categoryid=2648) and of the Genetic Engineering Safety Briefing (https://moodle.hochschule-rhein-waal.de/course/view.php?id=10029, password: GenEng-WS2022). After passing both briefings, a Lab ID can be picked up at Mrs. Staedel-Schneiders office (12 02 011). Please mind the office hours and please bring both certificates.

The first lecture on "Instrumental Analytics" will take place on October 1st at 8:15 a.m. in room 12 00 010. Enrollment key will be provided at the end of the lecture so that you can enroll in the course. In this first week, there will be no exercises. They will start on October 8th at 10:00 a.m (Group A) and at 11:30 p.m. (Group B).

In this summer term, lectures  on “Technical Enzymology and Biocatalysis” will take place in room 12 EG 010. Introductory lecture will take place on Tuesday, April 9th at 12:15 am. On this day, important information on the lecture series content and organization will be provided.
